A Winter Feast for the Soul
a
40-day worldwide spiritual practice period for people of all faiths everywhere.
January 15 - February 23, 2009
The mission of A Winter Feast for the Soul is to support individuals
around the world in making a commitment to daily spiritual practice for
forty days. A life grounded in daily practice is one that knows inner peace. It is that peace which translates into peace
throughout our lives and ultimately to peace and healing for our planet.
We know that it only takes a few committed individuals to change the world. We are here to do that. Please join us this coming
winter.
Your Invitation to Practice
for Peace
This winter we invite you to explore the possibilities
that arise from a life grounded in daily spiritual practice. We will take that grounding one step further as we create a global
community bonded by our desire for personal and planetary peace. The most important aspect of your commitment is that you
find a way to create deep peace inside yourself for 40-minutes each day for 40-consecutive days.
There Are Many Ways to Create Inner Peace
Daily meditation
Yoga
or Martial Arts
Contemplating sacred texts
Practicing the expressive arts, such as painting, writing and journaling
The desire
to find deep peace in the midst of our chaotic world is a common thread that will unite us. By joining others in our communities
and around the world we will strengthen our resolve and be more successful in keeping our commitment to achieve personal and
planetary peace.
Where Do You Begin?
Create a practice group, set aside a time for yourself
daily at home, or drop into the studio and use our space for meditation. You may meet with your group daily or intermittently
as you continue your practice at home. Be sure to journal your daily experience and growth.
The most important
aspect of your commitment is that you find a way to create deep peace inside yourself for 40-minutes each day for 40-consecutive
days.
Out beyond
ideas of right doing and wrong doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there - Rumi
