Sleep disorders, including insomnia, are extremely prevalent in our society. Effective modalities include sleep hygiene, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, relaxation practices, and medications. However, in spite of their usefulness, many people still have trouble obtaining adequate and refreshing sleep. Over the last few years, mindfulness programs and practices have shown to be effective in the treatment of insomnia and other sleep disorders. In this workshop, we will review the research using mindfulness for sleep disorders and practice techniques that have proven efficacity in insomnia. Participants will receive guided instructions, handouts and recordings links to use at home.

Gus Castellanos, MD is a retired Board Certified Sleep specialist and Neurologist that has been teaching mindfulness-based programs for 10 years. He came to mindfulness in 1998 largely to help his insomnia patients.
